Churchyard Inscriptions

Listed in these pages are the names written on headstones, memorials and tombs in St. Bartholomew’s churchyard, Corsham. The list should not be taken to be 100% accurate or official. The names are taken from a paper list that was compiled over 25 years ago. A number of inconsistencies were noticed while they were being entered onto computer. For example, a few names appeared twice, with slightly different dates. In addition, the list will not be complete—some headstones have long disappeared, others have illegible inscriptions and so on. Nevertheless, we hope you find something of interest in this list.

MEMORIAL STONES
The three memorial stones in St Bart’s churchyard have been temporarily removed (Oct 18) for cleaning and for the addition of new names, and should be back in situ early in November.

In the list that follows, plot reference numbers are to maintain a link to the paper list of names. Names sharing a reference number are thought to be buried in the same plot. Because of the size of the list it is split into a number of separate pages – please just click on the links below:
