THE CHOIR IS NO LONGER ACTIVE
For a number of practical reasons it is not feasible for the choir at St Bartholomew’s to resume leading worship on a regular basis at the moment. The plan is therefore to re-group after the summer with a focus on preparing music for the Christmas season. Anyone who enjoys singing at Christmas is warmly invited to join the re-formed choir at five weekly Friday practices (7pm-8pm) which will begin on 18 November. If you enjoy singing, or would like to learn, you are most welcome to join us; there is no audition. If you would like to register your interest before then, organist Robin Jackson (robin.jackson77@btinternetcom) would be pleased to hear from you.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic the Choir at Corsham Church has normally sung at the 10:00 am service every Sunday and on a number of other occasions, such as occasional sung evening services, weddings and funerals. Over the years they have collected a repertoire of well over 170 anthems ranging from the 16th century to the present day, both accompanied and unaccompanied, and are always on the lookout for good new material.
